Master Bath Remodel

Goodbye old tub that never got used, hello big shower with double shower heads. Thank you to our contractor who agreed to all my unconventional design ideas and was up for repurposing my salvage yard & antique fair finds.

I knew I didn't want a typical master bath, so I headed out to the County Living Antique Fair in Columbus, OH and found the perfect old wood table that would become our vanity. Rectangular vessel sinks (purchased on Amazon) and faucets/towel bars from Delta were all I needed to complete the sink area.

To save space, we took out the existing door and replaced it with an original barn door on a rolling track. Door was purchased at Columbus Architectural Salvage Yard.

We went with a doorless glass shower, marble subway tile, rain head and shower head. Added recessed lighting and a new hexagon white tile floor with light gray grout.

Mirrors were purchased at a local home decorating store. Originally black, I sprayed painted them white and distressed the scroll work with fine grade sand paper. Sconces are from Pottery Barn.

To make up for the lack of storage under the sinks, I incorporated a deep antique cupboard with six interior shelves (also purchased at the Country Living Antique Fair.)

Before and after:

The last finishing touches were a custom white shutter and a few turquoise accessories.

  3. Hi Jennifer! Is there any way you could email me some photos of your master? I LOVE the vanity and vessel sinks! I also was curious as to how much the conversion to the shower was for you? In our master we have a fiberglass drop in shower and also a jetted tub that eventually needs updating. If you don't mind, my email is dkmcclelland(at)gmail.com
